2014 — Founding
Three founders, one office in Tianhe District. The original two categories were copper goods and office furniture. The first client was a Buenos Aires distributor who still buys with us today.
Amity is small on purpose. One buyer per category, one inspector per region, one freight lead per port group. The person you write to in week one is the person you call in week twelve. The holding sits in Hong Kong; the workshop is in Guangzhou; the buyers are Argentine, Chinese and Mexican.

Eduardo Carnelero arrived in Guangzhou in 2010 as a freelance interpreter for Argentine importers. By 2013 the same buyers were asking for end-to-end management; by 2014 the office had three staff and a name on a door. We stayed small enough to know every order, and big enough to handle four parallel categories.

Buyers, inspectors, a freight lead, a contract lawyer on retainer and an admin team. Headcount has grown by no more than two people a year, on purpose.
We registered the holding in Hong Kong to give Latin American buyers a stable invoicing entity and a clear banking relationship. The operating team always stayed in Guangzhou.
Vinyl flooring and wall panels were added as the third and fourth core categories. We refused to add a fifth even when asked: the network only stays deep when it stays narrow.
The single rule that drives every other rule in this office.
Room 1402, Block C, Poly World Trade Center. 280 m² open plan, where the buyers, inspectors, freight lead and contract lawyer sit. Open 09:00–18:30 CST, six days a week during peak.
Unit 1903, Two Chinachem Exchange Square. Banking, invoicing and contract administration. Latin American clients receive PIs and invoices from this entity.
240+ audited factories on file across Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shanxi. Visits average 11 per month. Each supplier is re-audited at least once every 18 months.
“After 16 years on the floor here, I still go to every first-time factory visit. It is the cheapest insurance we can offer.”

“My job is to bring you three options, not one. The choice has to stay yours, or you stop being able to argue for it internally.”

“A clean container is rarely an accident — it is a sampling plan, a rework clause and a visit at week six.”

“Half of our late shipments are not freight problems — they are document problems. We treat the paperwork like cargo.”
